Rising Pathways Coaching is committed to providing coaching and mentoring services in a professional, ethical and thoughtful way. This document explains the standards I aim to apply across my work with clients and in the operation of the business.
1. Professional scope and boundaries
I will work within the scope of the service agreed with each client and within my own competence and experience.Coaching and mentoring are non-clinical services. They are not therapy, counselling, medical or nursing care, legal advice, financial advice, clinical supervision, nursing supervision or formal competency sign-off.If a client’s needs move outside the appropriate scope of the service, I may pause or end the work and, where appropriate, encourage the client to seek support from a suitably qualified professional or service.
2. Client autonomy and responsibility
Coaching and mentoring are collaborative processes.I provide space, questions, reflection and support, while clients remain responsible for their own decisions, choices, actions and outcomes.I do not guarantee any particular result, improvement, promotion, career change, business result or other specific outcome.Progress depends on a range of factors, including the client’s circumstances, participation, decisions and actions.
3. Confidentiality and privacy
I treat client information as confidential, subject to the terms of the relevant service agreement, my Privacy Notice, legal obligations and any safeguarding or serious risk considerations that may apply.Sessions are not recorded and I do not use AI transcription for client sessions.Where professional coaching supervision is used, client material will be discussed in an appropriately anonymised way wherever reasonably possible.
4. Professional development and reflective practice
• maintain and develop my professional knowledge and coaching capability through continuing professional development;• use appropriate professional coaching supervision and reflective practice;• review my boundaries, methods and service materials as the business develops; and• seek advice or specialist input where an issue falls outside my expertise.
5. Quality and continuous improvement
I aim to provide a clear, reliable and respectful client experience. I may invite optional feedback to help review and improve services.Feedback is private by default and will not be published as a testimonial without separate permission.I will review recurring themes in feedback, complaints, service delivery and professional learning and make proportionate improvements where appropriate.
6. Inclusion and reasonable adjustments
I aim to make services accessible and inclusive.Reasonable adjustment requests are considered in line with the Rising Pathways Coaching Accessibility & Reasonable Adjustments Policy.Clients do not need to provide a diagnosis or detailed medical history simply to ask for an adjustment.
7. Respectful and ethical working relationships
I expect professional boundaries and respectful conduct on both sides.I may pause or end a service where it is no longer appropriate or beneficial, needs have moved outside scope, professional boundaries are not respected, there is abusive, threatening, discriminatory or unlawful conduct, there is a conflict of interest, or continuing could compromise safe or ethical practice.
8. Concerns and complaints
Clients are encouraged to raise concerns at an early stage where appropriate.Complaints are handled under the Rising Pathways Coaching Complaints Policy, with data protection concerns handled in accordance with the Privacy Notice.
9. Environmental responsibility
Rising Pathways Coaching aims to operate in a thoughtful and environmentally responsible way.Services are delivered primarily online, digital documents are used wherever practical, and unnecessary printing and travel are avoided where reasonably possible. As the business develops, I will review working practices and suppliers where proportionate, with the aim of reducing unnecessary waste, energy use and duplication while maintaining appropriate security, accessibility and service quality.
10. Review
This commitment will be reviewed periodically and updated where the services, professional standards, legal requirements, environmental practices or business operations materially change.
